Title: Sega daytona 4 way shifter wiring into mame driving cabinet.
Post by: Ward-iz on February 25, 2017, 09:22:40 am
Hi there im trying to wire up a daytona 4 gear shifter into my driving cab . The shifter has 3 micro switches and ive wired them into my u-hid board . Ive tried for hours to get all 4 gears working but it only swaps between 1st and 2nd gear , or 3rd and 4th . Not all 4 gears working at the same time . Ive been trying to configure it for the model 2 emulator so i can play daytona properly .

Any help would be much appreciated.

thanks.

You will need to use a 3-to-8 decoder IC or some micro controller.

There are several solutions in that thread, but scroll to bottom for the best solutions.
(either adding a switch or using a demultiplexer)

Thanks for the help, I installed a micro switch for each gear and it works perfectly.
