i need schematics for zenith space comand crt tv that was made in 1986 trying to do a rgb mod.
its an old tv so i dont think it has OSD on it so i was going to find the rgb on the neckboard and the sync and and deampily it with resistors (or caps i dont know exactly with one to use for this action) so i can use it for retro console. if some has it i would be very thankful.
-
I have looked everywhere online and cant find it.
the serial number is:
SS1909W
691-57061014
If someone has it and linked it to me i would be very grateful
-
zenith never went that way
what u want is the 98-xxx-xxx # it is on the main chassic
this gives u everything u want
model # will only give u a picture of it.
space cmd ran for 15years

thank you ed
I couldnt find the schematics but i did find the data sheet for the ICs
one thing that i am wondering is if i should use the rgb from the neck board or the ones from the resistor by the Horiz/Vert Countdown System Circuit
so there are some pins that are marked as rgb. ill take pictures in a little bit
-
r/g/b is straight foward
your sync on the other hand will be a bear
zentih used complex jungle ic's to process all of that
i forget the wells/grander chassic but it used a daughter board that used the same ic on it
my daughter card has the ha # ic but in the zenith tv it is there in house 221-xxx-xx #'s which again some times are a bear to cross
cm38 series comes to mind
i will later today or tommrow when i have time chk my zenith manuals
a picture of the front of the set will help
ed
-
thanks man
actually the sync is looking to be the easy part. i found the sync output on the Horiz/Vert Countdown System Circuit pretty quickly.
would it be a bad idea to get the sync right from the IC?
-
yes that is easy to find
but u cannot lock to it
that ic carrys the sand filter
which unless u are going b/w .?
as it shuts down the chroma totaly if not sync-ed
by totaly it cuts the r/g/b's right off
u would need to re-bias them.
btw be careful it dose not need isiolation
some came with smps as power supplys some came hot >with isolated< tuners
early ones had a power transformer in them so they were perty much iso-ed
ed
-
and here are the pictures
-
There are 3 ICs
221-175: Horiz/Vert Countdown System
221-179-03: Luminance/Chroma Demodulator
221-190: Video IF Amplifier/PLL Detector System
-
the 175 and 179 are my concern
chk there loops
i think 179 feeds 175 2-x ie vert-sync/ horz-syc ?
i do forget i believe i am right

yea that sounds like dousy to get around.
i have to ideas to fix the problem:
(also i cant find the datasheet for the 179)
- get the the rgb from the neckboard or the 3 resistors but dont server the connection between the ICs and get sync from 221-175
- get rgb but get the sync from the turner (but if i do that i dont think i can mess with a vhold if monitor goes about of sync)
those a few ideas if they are flawed please fill free to correct me.
also this the most arcade like chasis i have ever seen on a commercial brt tv before.
-
but i hope those 2 connectors are really rgb that makes it was easier to test and set up
-
can u post a good picture of the complete chassic ?
i may beable to id it for u
besides zenith of course
ed
-
ok
-
oh ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- thats a cm138
newer chassic
unless i am wrong ?
smps
sep high voltage unit
that board is called if sub-system-demod board
final r/g/b drivers on on the neck board ?
used in 13"-27" up to and inculding there projector series
now i can find u the model #
u can find the 98# board # right on the board
tells u everything u need to know (schmeatics-spec's) for your use test point's (un-populated plug's)
ed
-
the insides of the tv says it it was made in 1986
and i still cant find the 98 number
-
yes i was thinking 80's
thats when they went to that series of modules
carefully look the demod board over and find either a 221 or 98 # it will be there
mostly printed on it or even a white sticker :if u can:?
which from the pervious picture i trust u can as these modules are keyed..so very hard to mess up plugging them back in right
ed
-
Ok i see 2 thinks
204-1138-02J
and sticker ill send u a pic
-
please do
ed
-
here
-
first 1 is your module #
if u want i will dig in the manuals in the afternoon
that module is very fimilar to me
just cannot place the cm#
but i will
ed
-
in some cases u add the "9" first
but here is my parital list of stock zenith
there is newer not yet added from when i bought out the last zenith dealer a few years ago

Hello!
Via a Google search I saw that ed12 had gotten some Zenith parts...
I need a knob he has listed...a 46-9605 knob...brownish in color.
Please PM me if you have it and thank you in advance.
