I bought both Centipede and Qbert mini cabs from Walmart. I looked inside each cab and discovered, both games use the same circuit board, with the only difference being, one small fuse or capacitor ( I don't have enough circuit board experience to know the difference). Anyway it looks like one could potentially unlock the hidden QBert game inside of the Centipede cab and vice versa, unlock the hidden Centipede game inside of the QBert cab by adding or removing J1 or R4 from the circuit board.

The joystick on the centipede makes me want to cry.
-
J1 has a number of 0
R4 has a number of 310

Remember those tiny trackballs on the old blackberry phones? Would it work?

If you added in a analog to digital converter like the old 2600 trackballs did it might. The thing is those pcbs are pretty big and I doubt they would fit inside that little thing.

Just bought the Q*Bert myself. Really wish the joystick was on the right side ???

I dont know why they didnt just put it in the middle.
Can anyone confirm that the joystick is actually angled?

It's 4-way, angled (with the pads at the diagonals), and pins on the bottom of the stick that let it rock only into the corners.
Centipede is the same stick (also 4 way only!), but straight.
Neither is terribly easy to play.

I might pick some up for shelf candy at the very least.

Anybody got a sku? I can't find them on Walmart.com. You guys have peaked my curiosity.

Q*bert is UPC 885561095432, Centipede is UPC 885561095418
The UPC is what shows on the receipt.

Mine were in the toy department with the other electronic games, like the series' earlier Pacman and Space Invaders, which are listed on the website.

Interesting looking but would definitely need some work to be useable.

Looks like all my local Walmarts have plenty. Strange it isn't on the website.
I saw some videos online and it looks like the screen is stretched to 4:3. Anybody looked into fixing that?

Since this is a NES in a Chip, I wonder how easily it would be to add a cartridge port... Looks like a mess of glob top there.
-
there's a dig dug model out now, (getting it later this week),
and a galaga model out also, which is replacing the missing defender model.
anyways, is it possible to replace the joystick, or maybe get one of
the slightly better myarcade mini cabs, and transplant everything into one
of those.
the joystick on the left, and being too low makes it hard to play most games,
like the ms pac man one.
