Title: Analogue accelerator pedal in mame
Post by: dramaone on February 20, 2017, 04:16:28 am
Morning,

The accelerator pedal is configured and working however ive encountered a problem.

In any game but for example Championship sprint, on the menu where you have to press accelerator to choose track or to proceed the pedal does not work.
Once in game it works fine to accelerate.
Has anybody encountered this before?

Rgds

Those selections are generally triggered in the very first part of the potentiometer rotation. If the potentiometer at rest is in a position over the point the selection is triggered, that will be ignored.
You can solve the issue by mechanically calibrating the pot.

Thanks. Makes sense, is that just a case of choosing the correct game device in windows and calibrating?

I think I needed joy2keys to get the front end to respond when I built mine last year.

Try this: remove the pot from the pedal and turn it from end-to-end: if the selection tiggers, it's a mere mechanical calibration issue; if not, you should tweak the settings in mame and/or use joy2key or a similar software
