Title: Changes.ini?
Post by: pubjoe on February 14, 2017, 03:58:14 am
Mame doesn't support this does it?

With Groovymame having new features each time I upgrade, I find it pretty hard to keep track of my ini changes by memory or by notes.  I was thinking we can tweak hardware specific ini files, like cps2.ini, with a nice short list containing only options of interest, then easily transfer them to a new mame version (usually).  Wouldn't it be handy if we could do the same thing with a global user-changes file?

Or is this possible already and I've just missed it?

You've missed it :) Every single .ini file is an override from the default settings or a lower priority .ini file. If you've not changed it, it doesn't need to be there.

Thank you!  I suddenly realise why every ini file I've ever used works as I just described.  I want the hours of my life back.
