Title: Does Illustrator keep the dimensions of cabinet made in Sketchup?
Post by: 80sarcadegames on January 31, 2017, 03:01:38 pm
I designed a Cabinet in Google Sketchup to the exact dimensions of my cabinet and I exported it in 2D format into a PDF.

I then opened up the PDF Google Sketchup file in Illustrator.

Will Illustrator keep the dimensions and adhere to the dimensions of the cabinet size which was outlined in the Google Sketchup file
which was exported as a 2D PDF?

If I do a conversion between different filetypes and programs I include an object of known dimensions. I draw a 10 by 10 by 10 cube in sketchup. I then check it in illustrator (or solidworks etc.) if it is still 10 by 10. I also do this on a draft print from a printshop just to be sure.

But from the top of my head i'dd say the PDF created in sketchup is the real dimension.
