Title: Anyone done a Wooden Victorian/Steampunk look? What colours would work?

I'm in the process of designing my bartop that will be made out of plywood as i need it to be portable. Seeing as the plywood has a nice wood grain finish i am considering waxing it a dark oak, that will match a lot of the woodwork in our Victorian house. I then thought of maybe going for a steampunk theme.

So then i start thinking about colour schemes for the controls. Black would be an obvious choice but then i though maybe light up blue buttons and joystick might fit with that theme too. Black T-molding maybe as well. I would have antique brass handles on the side to carry it.

The only issue is that i had set my heart on leaf spring buttons and joy sticks, so that kinda rules out the illimunated ones right?
