Just wondering how happs sells these (http://www.happcontrols.com/vending/acesor/49057200.htm).....
I mean, the page says
"BISON BLACK VINYL 40" x 150'
SOLD PER FOOT"
"1+: $ 4.80"
So, if I pay just $4.80, then will I get either
a) 1 foot X 40 inch Piece
or
b) 150ft X 40 inch Roll
Just want to clarify this. Thanks Y'all!
-
That is the price per foot.
-
You might want to take a look at the 40" wide "Black Pica Vinyl". It is $2.18/ft until the end of February...
-
Yes, it is per foot. If you need 15 feet, you put 15 in the Quantity box when you order.
I just got my Happs black pica vinyl yesterday. It's gonna look great on my cab. :)
-
I think what he's asking guys is
1ft = to:
1ftx1ft
1ftx40in or
1ftx150ft
I'm not positive but by process of elimination I'd have to say 1ftx40in, because 1502ft is alot, and would be a spectacular deal and 12ft is not a whole lot and would be outrageously expensive.

Happ sells it by the foot. What this means if you buy 1ft. then you will have a 1ft.x 40" piece of vinyl (if the roll is 40" wide). If you buy 20ft then you would have a piece of vinyl 20ftx40". Happs states how wide the material is.
-
It's sold by the lineal foot. It'll be 40" wide by however many feet you order.

Do you have a pic of that installed? Is this stuff good enough to use instead of laminate and do a whole cab with it?
-
Bump, I'm also wondering the same thing.
-
whoa, almost 4got I posted this one. Thx for the replies guys. Yea, I was HOPING it was afor a whole roll, but I was pretty sure it was 1' X 40". And yea, I'm looking into getting the pica vinyl. This black marble contact paper solution is !@#$.
-
If it's anything like the textured vinyl I got from my local distributor, it should hold up quite well. On sale it's a good bargain, at $4.80 per lineal foot it's about $.50 more a square foot than laminate.
I've done the coindoor panels on two cabs in textured vinyl and it turned out quite nicely on both. Pics of them are in Project Announcements.

I wanted to use this stuff on my CP, I bought one foot of the black pica vinyl, and it was 1ft by 40ft, that's not wide enough at all, doh!
I decided to go with a graphic underlay and plexiglass on my CP instead of vinyl, and I'm glad I did!
-
I'm going to order one foot soon (12"x49" right?)
does anyone have pics of this or opinions?
is there at any reason at all I should get 2 feet? I'm using it for two stand alone desktop controllers i guess you could say

also do you all know if this would hike up shipping charges or anything?
I'm also including marquee retainer so maybe they'll combine it

Yup pretty sure..cakeholes at happcontrols refused to cut the retainers in half for me so I had to pay like $36 shipping for marquee retainer >:(

For control panels, people say the PartsExpress vinyl is pretty good...
http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?&DID=7&Partnumber=260-018
10 mil thick, one 2' x 10' piece per roll
$14.88 ea for 1-3 rolls,

a) 1 foot X 40 inch Piece

I've got a semi-related question. How is the vinyl attached? Some sort of spray adhesive? Staples? Held in place by the t-molding?
thanks.
-
I used parts express vinyl and it is awesome. My CP was done in it. I wish it came wide too so I could use it on the sides of cabs.
It's really thin, but very sturdy. I haven't scratched on got a hole in mine yet.
Highly recommended
The partsexpress vinyl is self adhesive too.
-
I also use the partsexpress vinyl on modular cabinet control panels and it is great!
I've had it installed for over a year now - it sticks great, is very durable and looks great. Only failure I had was when some kid decided to (literally) peel a large chuck out of the panel on purpose.
Plenty of pictures from the site in my signature block.

It's adhesive backed vinyl... (peel & stick)

the happs vinyl is very good. i used it cover the control panels of my cocktail cabinet. it is easy to apply - backing is very sticky. need to take care when applying as once stuck down you wont be able to move/adjust it.
