Title: Rowe R-84 Prelude
Post by: mkballard77 on January 22, 2017, 04:33:58 pm
I have a Rowe R-84 Prelude Jukebox. It sounds great, but a couple selections don't play. I have records in the slots, but when I pick those, nothing happens. I can select other ones, so I'm fairly certain it isn't the buttons. Other selections will play. It just refuses to play certain slots. any ideas where to start?

Hi mkballard77,

Are these selections that it will not play ending with the third digit 8 or 9?

if the above is the case you may have fitted a RI-3 to RI-5 Pricing Board, check that there is not a diode in these two locations on the pricing board CR333 (160 play) and CR334 (RI-3)

Right now, it's 108/208 & 144/244 that won't play.

Hi mkballard77,

Test the keyboard switches for continuity with a meter, check the top and bottom connections on the pricing board for dry joints (cold joints USA) on the connection pins, regard the pricing board as a glorified connector rather than a credit device because all lines of data go through this board.
