I played a game along time ago ina an office building that had an arcade near the lobby. It was a wire frame tank game. Does anyone know the name of this game?

You can't be talking about Battlezone, could you? That is an arcade classic in every sense of the word and should be known to everyone in this hobby!
You ARE joking, right?

Was it in first person mode or top down? If it was first person then like APFelon said, Battlezone. If it was top down then my money is on Armor Attack.

There's actually one I used to play where there is this little yellow round guy that keeps opening and closing his mouth and you have to go around this maze eating little dots with ghosts chasing you everywhere. The best part was that there was a giant dot in each of the four corners and once you ate that you were temporarily invincible and could even eat the ghosts (whose eyes would then dart back to home base to get a new sheet to wear and come after you again). It was such a great game. Can anyone identify it?
Oh yeah...I just remembered something that might help jog your memories. Periodically a piece of fruit would appear, like cherries or a strawberry, and if you ate this you got bonus points.
That's all I can remember. I will be forever indebted to you all if someone can come up with it.

Yup it was Battlezone
I think it was in a Redbaron cabinet so the name of it didn't stick out in my mind. Never heard of it since.
Thanks though, the game rocks.

I was just ribbing you a little, I hope I didn't offend. I can't count how many times I have been reaquainted with a childhood memory through MAME, games which I had no clue as to what they were called.
Anyway, pleased to "meet" you. Welcome to the forum!

Battlezone and Red Baron used the same cabinet. Actually technically Red Baron used the Battlezone cabinet. Both were developed at the same time, but Battlezone shipped first. They made a few (less than 10) Red Barons in unique cabinets and then went over to using the same cabinet as Battlezone.
I have a Battlezone!!

Indeed. I spent many a lunch money's worth of quarters in Battlezone. One of these days I've got to build a controller setup to play it the way it was meant to be played.
