Hey im going to run mame on dos, so i got the 0.78 version for dos.
I was advised before to use version .36 because of the specs of the comp im using ( 233 mhz, 64 mb ram ) is this because i was using win98 ? would it make any difference in dos which version i use? The only other dos download i can find is "0.37b15"
Thanks

Hi,
You can find older versions of mame at
http://www.mame.net/oldmame.html
Older versions of MAME ran some games faster. But newer versions of MAME will have more games.
Hope this helps

Yeah ive been on there, thanks though! ;D
I think ill stick with the version i already have, also.. When i run mame it asks me for the sound device and i try soundblaster cause thats what i have and it says
"audio initialization failed"
"Unable to initialize system"
It does this on all options so i have to play without sound =( any ideas why it isnt working ?
It does it on this computer too...
And another thing, does anyone know how to install dos off a cd? I cant install it unless i use floppies and my floppy drive is screwed up.
