I have seen many forum post where they have successfully used usb trackball mouse board to convert happ trackball into usb, but I'm having no luck, On all the diagrams i have of mouse board, the ir reciever three pins have 5v, signal 1 and signal 2, however on the mouse i took apart, i was able to track down 5v and signal 1 pin, but the third pin on my dell mouse is connected to ground, i was able to apply 5v to the signal 1 pin i tracked down and when i connect to computer it makes the pointer go up. Same thing with the second ir reciever. It makes the mouse pointer go to left of the screen. but im unable to find or get the down and right direction to work. Any help would be appreciated.

sorry, no help for your issue. no idea what mouse you have.. or how it's constructed. they are all a little different. you are either going to have to source a mouse someone has already figured out how to hack, or keep playing with the one you have until you figure it out or maybe post a picture with a model number or something.
happ has a ready made set of opto boards that can turn a regular arcade trackball into a USB or PS2 mouse including 3 buttons.

both boards are needed to complete the set. it would save you a pile of frustration.
