Was thinking of buying this LED light strip for the outside (probably behind) of the cabinet. Was curious if anyone has used them before and if so, what they thought? Or if someone found a better/cheaper option. Thanks

probably okay.
I've used some that have a plastic or silicone rubber type of coating on the outside encasing the LED's. this tends to turn brown after prolonged use. I assume it's for outdoor weatherproofing or whatever. this one you linked appears to not have this so that's good.
i'm not sure about the 24 volt thing. makes it so you are kinda tied to a particular system. most strips are 12 volt. I would maybe search out a 12v system. it says it's brighter at 24 volts...but a 5050 LED is a 5050 led regardless. I'd rather have a strip usable with literally tons of controllers and whatnot available everywhere vs a particular 24 volt system.

I bought these to run as my marquee light very bright. I was lazy and bought the power supply for it and plugged it in.

I have the same strip lighting my Defender marquee except it's warm white. You wouldn't know it's not a fluorescent. It actually distributes the light better than fluorescent. Works right off of cabinet power.
