Hello, I'm toying with a few ideas regarding exotics controllers :) and I need some info about mame output possibilities
1)Aimtrak guns kickback each time a shot is fired, would it be possible to set up everything so the recoil is activated only when there are bullets in the magazine ?
2)Does mame supports analog outputs? I would like to create a Densha De Go panel which uses analog speedometers
Thanks!

Done some research, about question one, would mame hooker combined with an output board like the pac-drive allow me to control the gun solenoid?

You might check with charlieram if he's still around.

I think outputs were messed up/deleted in MAME for some recent versions.
Pretty sure there's a thread about it in the software subforum.
You might try a version around the 150's, or see what version charlieram is using.
EDIT: Also keep in mind that MAME is made up of a bunch of different parts, meant to emulate different arcade hardware, written by a lot of different people.
Some games have the outputs emulated, some (most?) do not.

thanks for the help, probably it's the mame version fault, since I tried dig dug that's used from howard casto as an example in the tutorial

I made it a point some years ago to hook up any gun game I possibly could. So unless it has been removed, it's a Namco game, or the game never had outputs to begin with you should have some outputs to work with.
