Title: Dartboard Matrix Needed
Post by: rob167 on November 30, 2016, 03:30:57 pm
I am in need of a matrix for my Scorpion "Pub Time" dartboard by Merit. The 9, 14, 11, 8, and 16 don't register at all, but the rest of the numbers and bull seem to work fine.

If anyone can help me, it would be much appreciated. The model number on the matrix is P/N SW8004 REV 0A. Thanks in advance!

Are you 100% positive the matrix is bad? Have you cleaned the segments and pad? Checked the matrix alignment in relationship to the board? I find it odd that those numbers don't work... Is it just one segment of each of those numbers? Or all 4 segments of each of those numbers? I mostly deal with Arachnid boards... But maybe all those numbers share a ground on the matrix and it's just a matter of a loose connector? Have you tried manually pressing those contacts of the matrix with the board off? Done any troubleshooting? Or just want to be a parts changer?

Thank you for the response. I am not necessarily 100% positive that the matrix is bad. When I finally acquired a key for the machine (I bought the board at an auction last weekend) and opened it up, there was a note inside stating "Bad switch matrix-I.O.Bd. should be good." My guess is that a technician wrote that when the former owner had the machine checked out, and then decided to sell when that was the diagnosis. Of course I cannot be sure that is what happened, just a guess. Anyway, I did take the board apart, removed the broken tips, and cleaned both the matrix and the pad...still nothing. As for those numbers, none of the four segments work at all, but every segment on the rest of the board work fine. I checked all of the connections that I could get to, and everything seemed to be making a good connection. I am definitely not tech savvy, but I will try your suggestion of pressing the contacts. Thanks again for your input!
