Title: Hantarex polo tearing
Post by: shifter on November 30, 2016, 07:48:11 am
Hi, can anybody shed any light on why the polo monitor in my point blanc is doing this, all the vertical lines seem to tear, it has had a cap kit but it made no difference :(

Thanks

looks like it might just be a bad or flaky sync connection or maybe a dirty power connection.

pull the JAMMA connector off the board and scrub the board connector with a pencil eraser. check your  5 Volt power supply voltage and be sure it above 5.0 but below 5.2 volts.

I agree. Probably a bad/dirty connection in the video/sync wiring or else noise coming from the power supply due to failing filter capacitors.

I also agree it looks like a sinc issue. Have you tried tweaking the H/V sync pots?

Thanks for the reply's, i have tried adjusting the sync pots and it made no difference, do you think it may be worth trying another remote board from another monitor ?

Worth a try if you have one handy.

that is either earth related or it could be a resistor on the neck card
first check the  screw is in place on the chassis earth plate-its just in front of the power in connector
