Title: Good deal on a coin door?
Post by: bertman77 on November 21, 2016, 08:59:29 am
Local purchase $25.

Only one coin mech which is set to take tokens, no locks, wiring looks complete, things look clean.

Did i get a good deal, or should i try and resell and get my money back?

Fairly standard cash and carry local pricing. I charge around the same when I have them.

The fact it's already wired is enough to make it a good deal.

Well, it can sit around in the basement for a couple of months till i can wear her down, if she doesn't agree right away.

That price was $25 Canadian, btw..... what does that equal these days $11.50 USD?

Make all your plans in advance, and build the whole thing one day while she is gone.

I doubt she would be begging and pleading and wearing you down if she wanted an end table, and an arcade game takes up the same amount of space.

I usually start with the coin door too.

True enough, the coffee table I made for her had a much larger footprint.

Nice coffee table!    I ordered a brand new coin door with Canadian quarter mechs from the playdium store after exhausting all local resources.  It cost me almost $300 Canadian with shipping.  You got a great deal.  Now I have 3 complete coin doors and only paid for that one lol.

Coin Doors... they aint cheap... but complete the look.

As a fellow Canadian, I commend you... but am slightly jealous. I don't see much come up for sale around me... definitely not $25 coin doors  :censored:

I've given thought to making something DIY, but everytime I hear bout these gems in the wild, I just remain patient.
