Today I replaced the CMOS battery in my Mame cabinet. This was the third time I have had to do that. The cabinet is now 12 years old this month and the PC is 14 years old.
Note to all of you scared your gear is going to blow up or wear out. That so called unreliable D9200 monitor, made in 2003, never been any trouble, still on original caps. Happ trackball, after 12 years you can see a wear line on the rollers, but you can't feet it with your finger yet, still rolls like the first day. None of the controls have shown any wear. None of the microswitches have failed. The Groovygamegear hardware under the hood all still works perfectly.
For all of you endlessly debating what PC you need for mame, then just look at this. This 14 year old PC has all of 1GB of ram and less than a 2ghz processor. Mortal Kombat 3 runs full speed, no frameskipping on Mame .106.

Hmmm, rotation issues, let us try again.

That's cool Paige. Good to know about the D9200---although I hope you didn't just jinx yourself. ;D

I repair monitors. I have 2 D9200 parts monitors out in my shed. I am not that scared.

Didn't believe that claim 12 years ago, don't believe it now.

AGP ArcadeVGA?
Nah, just running in VGA mode. I originally used an ArcadeVGA but at some point I was more interested in a few windows games and went with a more powerful card.
