Hi guys, until now I am running XP32 and GM 0.166 with a HD 4550 (sometimes a 4670) graphics card and CRT Emu driver 1.2a (catalyst 9.3) on a NAC and a Blast City (both in 15K). And I love it. :)
However, because my PC is capable in doing more, like playing hires PC games and because I want to experiment with Windows 7 64bit and a newer 64 bit GM 0.171 (with Emudriver 2.0 Beta 8) I just made a dual boot system XP 32bit / W7 64bit. And I will later probably get a more modern HD card, 6.... series or so.
I want to follow this guide to set everything up for a HD 4.... card: http://geedorah.com/eiusdemmodi/forum/viewtopic.php?pid=1016#p1016 (http://geedorah.com/eiusdemmodi/forum/viewtopic.php?pid=1016#p1016)
But before I do that I checked the device manager in W7 to see if the fresh W7 did manage to install all needed hardware drivers. And to my surprise I saw that the display adapter is the Ati Radeon HD 4670 that I use in XP. I didn't know that W7 'borrows' drivers used in other Windows versions.
Anyway, the key question is: if I install emu driver 2.0 B8 to use in W7, will I then still be able to use XP also with the appropriate 1.2a Emudriver?

Windows installations won't grab drivers from each other. So your XP installation won't be affected.
Windows didn't borrow the drivers, it already has built-in drivers for most common hardware.
