Dear all,
I added spinners by Ultimarc (https://www.ultimarc.com/SpinTrak.html (https://www.ultimarc.com/SpinTrak.html)) for Arkanoid type games to my cabinet that runs on a vertical Jamma Game Elf 412->1.
It works while moving slowly, but the max. speed, when de spinner becomes turned fast, is capped.
I expect the spinners are ok, but the Game Elf capps. Does somebody have an idea how to solve? Does anyone know a similar vertical Jamma emulator with VGA, that works with Arkanoid like games and not capping the spinner?
Many thanks in advance for your help,
Harzi

Have you set the turncount correctly for the game so that it matches the original spinner settings used in the arcade ?
Spinner setting in mame : (Note see around 02:30 for arkanoid settings)
! No longer available (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0_aIkkObZWM#)
Not sure if the game elf has the same settings menu but there should be some way to set it - if set too high the spinner will seem to spin backwards at times as the game will not read fast enough to maintain the correct rate when the spinner is spun rapidly since the spintrack reads 1200 steps per rotation vs an original Arkanoid spinner which read 486 steps per rotation !

Thank you JDFan for your post,

I will double check, but I doubt it solves my issue: The behaviour is not that I can move to slow or to fast.
The movement according the rotation speed looks ok, but it capps the max. speed. -> I can turn as fast as I want, it still moves as quick as it would do with joystick.
Maybe someone has other thoughts how to solve the issue?

Defective illegal multigame boards ship defective out of the box. There is no solution, the Asian organized crime syndicates that produce these boards don't care if they work right or not, that is why things that are simple software fixes don't get fixed, even after years of being defective. All they care is that it looks like it works.

Hm ok. Something like this I expected...
Is there a vertical game multigame board on the market that works?
Since it is not allowed to post commercial links, you may PM me.

That's not allowed either per rule # 5: http://arcadecontrols.com/arcade_message_rules.html (http://arcadecontrols.com/arcade_message_rules.html)

Arcadeshop board is legal and it works. You load your own roms.

Are you talking about ArcadeSD or one of the JROK/Mike Doyle/Two Bits boards?

Sorry, I meant the ArcadeSD. Mike Doyle's 96 in 1 Pac-Man kit is pretty awesome too though and is a great budget option since you can easily be rocking that and an original Pac board at under $200.
