Title: Vertical spinner games with MORE than one button?
Post by: LeedsFan on November 02, 2016, 05:52:42 am
I'm currently planning a dedicated vertical cab, single player only. I know some games like 1943 etc. used dual sticks for 2 player games but I won't be installing a 2nd stick. I'll plug a gamepad in for the handful of times that may happen.

I do have an Ultimarc spinner handy though that's not being used. I was wondering if there were any vertical spinner games (not trackball) that used more than one action button? Just planning out my panel now and thinking of putting the spinner bang in the centre. Joystick and three buttons in standard layout either side... with one button (or possibly 2) to the left of the joystick for right handed spinner use.
There is plenty of space to do this but I don't want the panel to look crap. I'm not even sure it's worth installing a spinner for just vertical games, but it's not like I'm spending more cash.

Tac/Scan uses 2
Cosmic Chasm uses 3

Mad Planets might be tricky. Think it uses a spinner + trigger stick for movement and firing.

Joystick on left, spinner on right, one single bank of buttons in the middle shared by both.

Tempest uses two.  One for fire and one for superzapper.

I agree with Paige.  Install joystick on left, two buttons in middle and spinner on right.
