Hi All,
Is there a quick way to find out from the roms you have which CHD you need using mameui? also I a bit confused when it come to getting the chd, i know a place where they have this sorts of things but I have a split full set of roms (58gb approx) and can only find chd sets which include the console chd and not the mame. am i searching for the right thing? and are they version specific?
Thanks Jeff

i was looking for an answer to this aswell,
i think this topic might help:

look for this post by JDFan --->
"In Mameui64 it has a sub category for chd games in the folder list so you can just highlight that selection and see all of the CHD games in a list "

Yeah in mame ui click chd down the left hand menu for a full list.
I cant link to sources but there are plenty out there and they are version specific.

Thanks guys! ;)

For your purposes, the ones from the "No Filler" list linked in my signature might help:
jojo
kinst
kinst2
mace
sfiii3
hyperath
nagano98
blitz
gauntdl
gauntleg
That's only working games, worth having, & only using plain old joystick controls.
You might want to add the other versions of sfiii and blitz, but I consider them redundant.
When we first get into this hobby we want everything possible on our cab.
After being in it for a while you realize that most of "everything possible" sucks and is a hassle to maintain. :lol

Thank you BadMouth, thats an awesome and generous post, this is right up my street, do you have one for light gun games by any chance please? ;D
-
sorry I forgot to ask, your batch files are for 0.170 but I have 0.178 could I still use the batch files?
-
I think the only good lightgun chd games are carn evil, crypt killer, Alien 3 and area 51.
Cant remember now lol

Cheers Titch!

List of light gun games here (all the MAME ones are listed in the Aim-Trak manual): http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,119925.msg1271123.html#msg1271123 (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,119925.msg1271123.html#msg1271123)
Sorry, no rom name lists or batch files.

Most likely will work for every game. If there is one in which the rom was renamed between .170 & .178, then it will get skipped over, but it isn't likely.
If you want to be 100% sure: Print out the lists, run the batch file, then check to see if any are missing.
