Title: Rowe R-84 making a buzzing noise (not speakers)
Post by: takanuva588 on October 08, 2016, 06:08:38 pm
Recently I had replaced some parts on my R-84s CCC board that were damaged by battery acid, along with replacing the battery and doing general clean up. Now I am able to get it to play records mostly fine, The problem now is that about a week afterwards when I turn it on a loud buzzing noise that seems to be coming from the carousel, sometimes loud and sometimes not. BUT everything still works, it still plays and otherwise works like normal. I have a video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JHWtw0V_O-0 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JHWtw0V_O-0)   . I'll have to test it a little more to make sure if this problem is consistent but if anyone has any ideas as to why it does this then it would be helpful.

Hello takanuva,

For what ever reason I could not see the video but I could hear it, it sounded as if a motor or solenoid was chattering in the background.

You will need to identify which part of the mechanism is making the noise in order for us to offer more advice.
My guess would be the spag assembly solenoid.

I've done some testing over the past five days, turning the jukebox on twice a day. Only two out of the ten times I turned it on it made the buzzing noise. So for now it seems to be mostly fine, but ill keep a close eye on it.
