Hey guys just a question out of curiosity.
What are the top few games that you always play on your builds? Also, what are the top few games your guests play on your machine.
For me I play Space Ace, TMNT and Bucky O Hare (my kids make me play this with them)
My guests: Street Fighter 2, Terminator 2 w/Aimtraks of course and Alien Versus Predator
-
Before I gutted my stargate, I was constantly asked to play the two player version of gauntlet. Ms Pacman , Digdug, Pengo , star trek and oddly bagman . My buddy is a fiend on Mr do castle but nope, only the above will do. Wierdo. :lol
-
Galaga.
No other requests. Ever.
-
Ms Pac-Man, Star Wars, and Centipede. Of course, I own all those as dedicated cabinets, but those are the ones everybody loves to play.
Galaga is reserved for my MAME cocktail. MAME is generally reserved for those, "Do you have this game?" requests.
-
Bubbles, Puzzle bobble 4 are the two big ones, with a bunch all grouped up after that.
-
My wife will only play zookeeper with me. My friends usually just want to fight so Mortal kombat, street fighter, marvel vs. Capcom
-
Top 3 that I play:
1. Q*bert
2. Donkey Kong
3. Mario Bros
Top 3 that family and friends play:
1. BurgerTime (wife)
2. Ms. Pac-Man and DK 3 (kids)
3. Galaga (friends)
-
Pinz N Dartz
-
Pacman, Ms. Pacman and the one that gets played most often... Super Pacman. Coming in 4th, 5th and 6th would be Jr. Pacman, Donkey Kong and Donkey Kong Jr.
Edit: Looking at the times played count 7,8, 9, 10 (in order), go to Galaga, Kangaroo, Zoo Keeper, and Vs. Ice Climber.
-
Top 3 for me:
Streets of Rage remake
Pac Man
Point Blank with aim traks
Guests:
Street Fighter 2
Super Puzzle fighter 2
Mortal Kombat 3
Other that tend to get lots of use:
Ms Pac Man
Arkanoid
Metal Slug
KOF
Puzz Loop
Bubble Boggle
Oh and Simpsons bowling with a party of peeps lol
-
mine:
Pengo, Ms Pacman, Defender (dedicated cab)
Guests:
Ms Pacman, Galaga, STUN Runner (dedicated cab)
-
My machine saw a lot of play for Simpsons, SFII and NBA JAM when it was up. Guests didn't play the classics like I thought they would but I think its because I only had 8 way sticks so game play wasn't so good on the old 4-way stuff.
-
I use to play recently Iron Horse, DonPachi and Cobra-Command. As for "my guest" - the don't care about game especially old ones so only my son sometimes plays Sunset Riders or Metal Slug.
-
Guests: Mortal Kombat II, World Class Bowling, Ms. Pacman
Myself: Ikaruga (demul), Border Down (demul), Mortal Kombat 9 (PC), any random beat 'em up
(I still suck at the shmups, but enjoy them anyway. I play the first few levels which I'm decent at, then walk away when my ship go boom.)
Driving cab: Ridge Racer 2, Crazy Taxi (while drinking), Daytona USA
Main cab needs usb ports resoldered on the motherboard & driving cab is in pieces.
Nothing is working properly at them moment.
I have too many other non-arcade projects that need done first. :-\
-
I have no emulation machines (Vpin isnt in my gameroom, so it doesnt count)
Me:
Comet (Pinball)
Street Fighter II (Pinball)
Super Puzzle Fighter II on the MultiCPS2
Guests:
pinball
Mortal Kombat II
Street Fighter Alpha 3 on the MultiCPS2
My driving cabs just sit there unplayed, makes me sad.
-
I'm sniffing some serious BS in this thread, or y'all have some seriously weird friends.

hahahahaaha This is great! I have found some lesser known games to try tonight.
-
Me:frogger, robocop, Shinobi
Frieda: Street fighter 2, Kung fu master, marble madness.
-
Sheesh, apparently nobody's friends get along if all they want to do is VS each other in fighting games. :lol
-
All my friends are over 40, so don't really give a crap about fighting games. They'd much rather play the single-player classics they grew up with.
-
I'm 42 and I love me some vs fighting games. :p

Yeah, must be the LARPing... :-)
-
Oh, by the way, repair party November 2nd, Slippy. If you need anything fixed, it's good time to do it.
-
When I open up the game room to trick or treaters, the driving cabs get the most play from the kids, a MsPacman gets all the play from the adults. I leave the pinballs off and unplugged and tell everyone that they dont work.

You are a monster genius!

Haha... the authentic arcade experience.

Woah! That's a great idea! I've got my machines in the front room, I'll just block off the rest of the house and leave the front room open and let folks play games on Halloween!

You just need some young blood in ya posse lol
Great idea Malenko.
Halloween is no big deal over here tbh so I wouldn't bother.
Plus my dogs eat children as snacks lol

Galaga.
No other requests. Ever.
THIS
-
Tapper
Burger Time
Tie between Golden Tee or Shuffle Shot
-
Any games my family\friends request is played for 5 seconds (10 seconds if the bootup takes an extra 5 seconds).

I think the reality is, they don't really want to play but instead want to engage you in conversation on your level. ;D
-
I find guests have just as much fun scrolling through the game wheel getting all nostalgic as they do playing games.
-
I have a few dedicated and a mame machine, Race Driving gets the most love, we all want to beat each other and its fun to watch ( and learn) where you can improve when racing each other. I have a few dedicated gun games, Area 51 site 4 wins on those (but there are only 3 gun games to chose). Mame is Ms Pacman, several friends all seemed to like that.
Me: Gauntlet, X-Men (by myslef, cant quite beat it on one quarter but getting close), Wardner (used to beat it one quarter, cant do it now) and Black Tiger.

This. Seeing the video clips of the games sparks conversation.."Oh wow I remember playing this", "Christ I remember that game being a pile of crap!".

I found myself doing that when I first installed all the video clips.
Going through them one by one.

And of course... god thats ****!!

My "gameroom" is my garage, so I just open the garage door and lock the door that goes from the garage to the house. PBJ calls it my rape dungeon because the walls are unfinished. This is the first year of having pinballs at Halloween , and Im just erring on the side of caution. I havent learned enough (yet) to fix them if something serious gets broken.
-
We don't get trick or treaters in my town. They block off main street and do something there. Idk I've never been.
-
The big three that get played the most on my machine seem to be Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, NBA Jam TE, and WWF Wrestlefest.

Here is every conversation with someone who sees it running the first time goes:
Me: "What would you like to play?"
Them: "Do you have <Fill In Game That Evokes Strongest Childhood Memories for Them>?"
Me: "Sure, here ya go."
Them: "WOW AWESOME. HAVE YOU PLAYED THIS GAME? THIS GAME IS THE BEST! I REMEMBER WHEN..."
Me: "Be sure to put in a c.."
Them: "How do I get this to start"
Me: "Be sure to put in a coin and hit start"
Them: "Oh yea... Bleep Bloop"
Me: Exit scene right.
After that, they always usually play that one game for the first few times, then remember there were others.
So my answer, its always some game that someone wants to play that they have a fond memory of, whatever was in their local gas station or whatever.
-
Don't have a lot of guests come over, but so far it's been Ikari Warriors on MAME, then Dragon's Lair on Daphne and basically every NES game on my NES emulator.

Gorf, Track And Field, and Pacman are most requested.
-
I'm going to stick to MAME related games because the results are all over the place if I include systems like NES/SNES/Genesis/etc...
Me: (This changes every month or so)
U.N. Squadron
Metal Slug X
Dungeons & Dragons: Shadow over Mystara
Friends:
Windjammers
Street Fighter II: Champion Edition
Joust
Windjammers is definitely at the top of the list for the time being. We're a bit obsessed. ;D
-
Bubble Bobble, SFII, Space Ace
-
Gorf

Doesn't seem like a game that appeals to the masses/non-enthusiast.

My Brothers and I have great memories of the game..they are the usual visitors to my humble abode who play on my cab.
