Title: Mini NES Pi with Working NFC Mini Cartridges
Post by: dgame on September 27, 2016, 02:30:19 pm
This is not my project and I have no affiliation other than having pre-ordered an electronics kit for myself

This is a Raspberry Pi in a 3D printed mini NES case with working mini 3D printed cartridges
It is a Raspberry Pi 2 running RetroPie Jesse
The novelty is that it also uses NFC tags to allow the mini cartridges to select the games
The front power and reset buttons also work

He is selling the improved (no solder / printed PCB) electronics kit separately:

Although I am not planning on 3D printing a mini NES case I think the NFC Raspbery Pi interface is interesting enough to get the electronics kit.

Remote controllers and menus are probably a lot easier. This NFC interface can be used for novelty and physical media interaction.

Printed cards or keychains that run the game when you put them at the designated spot/slot?

Hu Card style with NFC tag?

Cards for major functions like web browser, mame, nes, kodi, etc.

NEO-GEO Mini-Marquees that select the game? Would be nice if integrated into a single slot styled cabinet with the "Now Featuring" marquee:

Design your own console/arcade box and cartridge/card/token system?

The carts are pretty rad.
