Title: Please help me find the name of this game

OK, I'm pretty sure this was a PS One game, but after not having any luck finding it now I'm not so sure.  It is a Zelda-ish top down RPG and the main character is a boy born to prominent parents of some sort (maybe royalty or something).  In the beginning cut scenes it was prophesied that the kid would inherit some sort of powers, but ended up not having them or something.  He either runs away or is banished somehow and the game starts with you playing as the boy walking around a village.  Any guesses would be appreciated.

Sorry for the late reply.  I want to say it was sprite based, but my memory of it is very fuzzy.  I know my description is pretty poor.  :-\

Part's of your description made me think you could be miss remembering some elements of Albert Odyssey on the Saturn, but after a minute more of thought you could be describing lots of different RPGs.

How sure are you that it was a PSone Game?

Can you add some details on what happened after you walk around a village?

Did the game have a fantasy, steam punk, SIFI feel?

Can you recall any other characters?

It seemed a lot like that Legend of mana game, but I don't believe that's it.  I'm not so sure it was PS1 anymore...for some reason I thought it was Alundra, but I don't remember the ship part in the beginning.  My memory isn't what it used to be.  :banghead:
