I found a PCB which lets you interface an iPad 1/2 display panel to HDMI, VGA or composite video.
I just scrapped about 10 panels today. I have a good supply of them at work. I have to save some for future use. They may be good for some mini RaspberryPie build etc.

I have a crazy idea of mini bartop units which can be linked for multiplayer fun.

BTW it looks like similar PCB can be bought for many different panels. This can be a cheap way to get many kind of TFT panels working with HDMI and VGA input.

Awesome. Next time you get a few panel spares, let us know. I'd be interested in picking one up for experimenting purposes.

I ordered the pcb. I'll test it with RaspberryPi, C64 and PC and report back.

I received the PCB. I'll test it with Raspberry Pie and Xbox next week.

It works. Tested with brand new iPad display and a PC. I have lost my RPi somewhere... Have to check my lab/garage again.
