Title: 60-in-1 with LCD $3500
Post by: 8BitMonk on September 16, 2016, 11:04:41 am
I know this is nothing new, it's a free country and you can charge whatever you want for something :blah: :blah: :blah: but listings like this still royally piss me off. This is probably $300 worth of parts tops and it looks like a tacky POS. Some poor schmuck who doesn't know any better will probably barter them down to $2500 and think it's a steal!  :banghead:

That's outrageous. I don't think I would even take it for free.

I HAND make brand new cocktail cabinets with 60 and 400-in-1's that we sell for less than half that price.

It immediately reminds me of this youtube video i watched recently. Not the build, but the probability of someone being taken advantage of.

I LOVE THE GUY'S ENTHUSIASM in this video! He just bought a custom arcade machine but geeeez he probably paid through the rear end for it. It's pretty cool to see how excited he is about it so good for him, but wow he probably paid thousands for it.

Very nice machine but maybe too much on it, he has an NES emulator on it etc.

What do you guys think?

You're right, gotta love that guys enthusiasm! I had to laugh when I heard 'we got it on the low' and 'could probably sell it for double'.  :laugh2:

Don't get me wrong, I believe in making a profit. Being close to the hobby it's easy to forget the inherent value in the specialized knowledge it takes to bring a cab together and undervalue things but this listing is over the top.

Im asking 5500$ for my neo geo. Whatz da big deal?  :dunno :laugh2:

I've got $2500 cash, deal?  :lol

I have to pass. An arcade with a crt is worth more than one with an lcd. If an arcade with lcd is worth $2500, i have to ask more than that. Lowest ill go is $4000 and a box of twinkies. Does not include quarters for that price, but with this investment, youll have tons of quarters withon a few years!

Some people don't have the time or patience to even want to learn how to map buttons to a controller let alone build a whole cabinet and fill it with roms and a front end and build a PC , etc... So they are willing to pay big money for what they think is worth it. Ignorance is bliss for these huge profit sellers
