Hi All! This is a XPOST from reddit.
I am having this issue in Hyperspin (V 1.3.2) using Hyperlaunch HQ where if I leave the game without hitting any buttons after about 30 minutes, the game will minimize to the lower left corner and will show the game wheel. The video on the game wheel does not play, it just sits there. I still have my mouse and keyboard hooked up since I am troubleshooting still and I can bring the mouse cursor down and click on the minimized title of the game, and it brings it right back up. It is minimizing with no buttons being pressed. I just leave the game for 30 minutes and come back and this happened. I have tried looking in the logs and do not see anything out of the ordinary but I can post it if you think that will help.
I have confirmed it is not just doing it on MAME but also with my NES Emulator.
*start head scratching here* Any Ideas? lol

Screen saver at a guess?
-
I have the computer booting right into Hyperspin. Windows never loads.
Also, it happens even while playing games.
-
Hyperspin runs through windows so its still loaded in the background.

^^^this.

Hmm. I will take a look tonight to see if I have screen savers active.
Would this also happen even if I am playing? Wouldn't the computer recognize the button presses as input and not activate the screen saver?
-
It shouldn't happen if you are playing.
More likely to be a button combo minimising it then.
Pressing alt tab or something like that.

Alright. I will test more on this theory tonight.
Thank you for the information about Windows still running in the background. I did not know this.
Will keep you updated!

Good luck :)

Windows always runs. But you're probably using HyperSpin as an alternative shell, meaning EXPLORER.EXE doesn't run.
All the services etc. are still running in the background.
But the screensaver shouldn't start if explorer.exe isn't running.

The screensaver was already turned off but I messed around with some other settings (of course I cant remember which) but so far it doesn't appear to be reoccurring.

Glad you are sorted :)
Tinkering is usually the way lol
