I've done the call-around local businesses thing, even went to one to check out some stock they said they have, but I can't find a place that can just cut a piece of darkly tinted glass. I think my only option is to order online.
I want something dark like this (posted in a thread on this forum):

I keep seeing things like "Solar grey", "dark grey", "acrylic", etc. I don't really care if its glass or plexi, just want that dark glass. I have an old one that's all scratched up that I already tested and it looked so good, I can't go back now. Anyone know what the standard tint/material would be and a place to order?
Thanks!

Might also try the Auto Tinting shops in your area -- figure they should have pretty much any darkness you want and it is just added to the glass (which shouldn't present any challenge to place on a piece of glass cut to the size you need) - shouldn't cost much to have them put tinting onto a piece of glass/plexi and would probably give more options for tint color than trying to find something already tinted. (and would probably cost less than the shipping/insurance if ordered online) - or even a self install kit from the auto parts shop.

One day glass

Too dark is a mistake imho. Auto tint will reduce the clarity a tad and scratch really easy. A nice 3/16" thick light gray tint is the way to go. If you end up ordering glass, make sure it's tempered and specify "no logo" when you order.
good day.

I have ordered from tapplastics.com. smoked grey plexi. I am very happy with it

"greylite 14, tempered, seamed, no logo" is how you order it from your local glass supplier. That is the callout for original tempest glass.
If I can get this in Billings, MT, you should be able to get it wherever you are.
