So it looks like we lost Howard's AM2R thread in the shakedown.
Just completed this past weekend. 85% of items and about the same on map in a bit over 6 hours. Definetly fun, will go back and start hunting to make it 100% and then try some time attacks later. Really enjoyed the snot out of this.

It's a damn near perfect game. I'm only sad that it's over. If Nintendo doesn't want to do anything with Metroid they ought to hire these guys, give them a small team and let them make games for the company.
They are still working on it as well. What they are doing is releasing patches that you can apply to 1.0.

I played through 1.1, need to see what's changed if anything. I only hit one small glitch out in the top corner or one of the maps (water world I think) but noticed it was already on the list. Other than that it was flawless.
And you were totally right, queen metroid was a ---smurfette--- until I figured out how some of the cycles and how to replenish supplies mid-fight. I had been screw-attacking through her goobers and run was running bingo on missiles before I could get her dead.

Yup.... killing the snot was the key. I'm not sure if that mechanic was intentional or not as normally the screw attack lets you collect power ups.

Freaking kotaku kills another one. At least I got Pokemon uranium in time....

They never got the C&D so it's still available in their forums. Get it.

I finally got around to installing this for my mom today. She's loves the game but says she misses the music from the original. I didn't play it enough to know but maybe you guys recall. She's stuck on a section right now where it appears you have to speed run through some lava.
Thanks again for hooking me up with this guys.

I got stuck a couple of times and I just searched for a playthrough of the game and fast-forwarded until it showed the spot I was stuck on. Usually it was something dumb involving the map because the map, like those in other metroids of that era, can be misleading.

In initial cave system (before you get into the more unique areas) there are multiple lava areas that block out large portions of the map. They open as you clear metroids so if you have any metroids on the counter in any of the areas then you're blocked access from the next portion. Have her clean the areas she has access to and then recheck the main cave system for new openings. Best I can tell you.

That makes sense. Thanks.
