Title: FREE archive of the first 13 years of Nintendo Power!

This is frikkin great!  High quality scans, fast download speeds OR you can use the online viewer to view these bad boys right from your pc/tablet/phone.

If you are playing a Nintendo console, you can now grab the magazine and read it while you are playing, just like in ancient times.  I might invest in a large tablet specifically for this.  Now if they would only do game manuals.....

That's pretty rad. They even contain the fold-out-posters.

I still have my original Nintendo Power Magazine Issue #1. In very good shape as well. Could probably fetch close to $80 or more on the eBays.

When Nintendo announced the final issue a couple years ago, I snatched up 2 at my local news stand. One to read and one to keep sealed.

There are websites that have pdfs of most game manuals as well as strategy guides. I will look for links.

NES had two buttons.  How complex were those manuals going to be?   Jump, Attack.

I still have a box full of my old Nintendo Power, Gamepro, EGM, etc
I've thought about putting some of them on eBay, but haven't yet.

Nintendo Power spanned all the Nintendo systems over the years.  So when I mentioned manuals I didn't mean just the NES.  That being said some manuals helped with weirdness in games, like Star Tropics secret letter, ect.....

I know what you mean. I enjoyed reading the manuals to my favorite games. Especially if they included hints, pictures, and/or back stories.

Yeah I've been getting my collection in order and I've ran across a few surviving manuals.  Most are for Mortal Kombat games, which had fantastic artwork in them.

Side note:  Pulling stuff out of storage and getting it setup for display is a ton of work.  Just finding cubes big enough to fit monster consoles like the xbox took me months.
I'm not even close to being finished and I've been working on it in my spare time for ages.

Over the past few months I've been collecting nintendo power players guides as well as various Brady and prima guides. I wish I still had all my old nintendo power magazines, though I do remember cutting all the pictures out as a kid.

If you guys want vintage mags, have you seen Retromags?  https://www.retromags.com/ (https://www.retromags.com/)

They have tons of old magazines for d/l: Nintendo Power, Game Player's, EGM, etc.

Right on. This will give me something to read on the can.

I had to call the Nintendo 900 number back in the day because I'd rented StarTropics and had no clue what to do when asked for that code. The guy tried to keep me on the line as long as possible and I was getting pissed (I was 13 and my mom was already going to kill me for calling). He wouldn't just tell me the code, he was like, "Think of a big airplane..." and I said, "I don't care, just tell me the code!"

I did a social studies fair project on Nintendo in first grade (yeah I was hooked that early) and cut up most of the older issues to paste on the project board.  I still have my mags though and once I get things straightened out they are coming in the house with me.  If nothing else, the ruined issues might make good wall hangers with the posters and stuff.

Their company was so small back then (on the US branch anyway) that when we called NOA for more info, they sent me this huge press kit.  I think Howard Phillips even wrote me a little note on some of the papers.  Of course I was a stupid little kid and didn't realize how valuable that stuff would become, so I probably threw it all out.

Btw... it'd be a bit of a chore, but someone needs to go through the Indexes of all these issues so we can make a dat of which games are featured in which issues.

Those 90s video game magazines, man.  I thought they were hot stuff back then and they just make me cringe now.  One particular offender was Flux (which Wiki informs me didn't last very long).  Every now and then I come across one (EGM, GamePro, whatever) and those things are better left in the landfill.

I like em for a lot of the same reasons you don't.  It's kind of charming how they tried so hard and failed so bad in many respects.  Nintendo Power always cracked me up with their "reviews".  Yeah you are going to give a game made/published by the company you work for a bad review.  Even at 7 I was wise to that.

I still have all my old Nintendo Powers (all the way back to Issue 1 which is in rather rough shape). It was incredibly corny (even at 12 I realized that) but so much useful info. I wonder if that kid who won the Bill & Ted phone booth they offered still has it.

I just love all the old advertising, particularly in PC gaming mags.  It amazes me how games were marketed.

Remember when we got a free copy of Dragon Warrior?  A free frikkin game!  You rarely see that these days.  Oh and remember the Nintendo Fun Club?

Ok the takedown of these magazines is starting to make a bit more sense.

Nintendo and prima are releasing an official players guide to go along with the Nes Classic:

https://www.primagames.com/games/nintendo-nes-classics/products/playing-power-nintendo-nes-classics (https://www.primagames.com/games/nintendo-nes-classics/products/playing-power-nintendo-nes-classics)

It mentions hand drawn maps and artwork.  What do you want to bet they lift the art and maps from old Nintendo Power mags for the new guide?
