How can I hook up one of these up to my cabinet besides optipack. I don't want to buy a pc one or do mouse hack. Is there any other way to do it? Also how does the trackball on the Ultimarc page comparte to a 3" happ trackball besides size and price?

get one that already hooks up directly to the PS2 port or the USB port.

At Oscar Controls you can get a "USB mouse interface" which is just a pre-hacked USB mouse for $9.00:

The only trackball I've found that supports connection directly to the PS/2 or USB ports is sold by Happs. Too bad it's so expensive.
Searching these boards on the subject revealed a few posts mentioning a person on EBay occasionally selling Wico/Imperial trackballs with PS/2 interface. Don't know if that person is active anymore though.
The ultimarc trackball + optipac seems to be one of the better solutions for its price-range.

I have one of the Wico imperial PS2 trackballs, they are spiffy.
I bought mine on ebay, but I seem to recall them only being $80 from Wico, not too bad considering that you don't need an interface.
Also, look harder on ebay, the guy that used to sell them before always listed them in the wrong category, they were never in the arcade category, usually in the playstation or console games category, or something like that.

So i didn't knew that!
It seems that i already made my choice, thanks once again! :)
It's better that than a newbie hack! 8)

Thanks, the oscar USB mouse interface looks intriguing.

Yes, Oscar's hack works great. Just buy 3 low cost mice when you go to buy one. It will save you 2 extra trips when things go horriably wrong.
Couple that with a $28 trackball from Ultimarc and you are good to go.

I recently bought one on eBay too. It's a PS/2 interface with 3 buttons, and it's real nice!
The seller's id is 123gumby123. Look him up. He was great.
