Title: MAME INI FILE
Post by: aeroflott on January 18, 2004, 12:36:45 pm
ANything particular I need to do when amended options using the MAME ini file? I am assuming:
I run "mame -cc" in a command line window. Then going back to windows, finding the ini file thats been generated under my MAME directory. Opening it, making any changes I need to (like "0" to "1" or whatever). Then saving and closing?
Is that all I need to do?

(This issue is related to not being able to display backdrop art and bezels in MAME - artwork is zipped in "artwork" folder, and the settings appear correct in the ini file, but I'm getting no artwork displayed).

Any help appreciated...

yep.  That''s all you need to do.  Generate the ini and modify the options.  Also when new mame comes out it is wise to do -cc again incase new options are available.

I never thought about that!

I just did that and I noticed an option for enabling dual light guns.  Does this mean that Analog+ is no longer necessary to get two ACT-Labs TV-out guns working together?

I'm not sure, but i think that's just for the tv guns (which I have) which already support two players natively.  For the pc guns you may still need analog plus.

Hmm...I've got two guns, but I haven't used them yet.  I'm trying desperately to  have my cab finished by feb 1st (superbowl party).  It'll be close, but I only have weekends to work on it.

I was actually under the impression that analog+ was required for the TV guns (to use two simultaneously).  That's good news for me.  I just got a set of .78 roms and analog+ is only up to .77.
