Title: Vandyke (Japan) high scores.

Can someone please help with the strange mame issue.

Running 0.171

In the game Vandyke.  If I get a high score the high score table/name entry screen does not appear (only game over).

My highscore can be seen in demo mode and mame saves this score when restarting game  however when the high score table appears in attract mode it only has the default high score.

All dips set default.

Anyone?

I have tried various other sets and clone and same issue.

that's an odd one, although it wouldn't *entirely* surprise me if it was a real game bug, quality control doesn't look to have been especially high with that game.

It's a game I remember playing a lot on holiday so have a soft spot for it.

I actually really enjoy playing it.

Would be interesting to know if the real hardware did the same.

One more thing that I found.  If you enable service mode you can enter your name in a high score table there but it appears to just add a massive score with your name on it to 1st place.
