Title: Has anyone ever ordered from Gatorcade?
Post by: PaulG on January 18, 2004, 08:34:29 am
I can get the Golden Tee trackball and mounting plate for 76 + 12 shipping.  Has anyone ever ordered from them?  I'm relucatant to go through Happs because of the shipping stories I've read on this forum.  Is US shipping with Happs 100% reliable, or have they been known to gouge US customers with shipping costs too?  P.S.  If I avoid Happs, does anyone know of a third party where I can buy Happs convex buttons?  Thanks!

I've ordered from Gatorcade before.  They are very friendly and ship quickly.  I've had no problems at all with them.

Most of the stories you've probably heard about Happ shipping is people getting charged a lot for oversized items like the marquee retainers, bezels, and monitors.  I ordered a gaming stool and a bunch of buttons from Happ and total shipping came to $15.28 which came in separate boxes, and I thought that shipping cost was very reasonable.  As a general rule, if your order is for smaller items like trackballs, joysticks, and buttons; then you will pay about as much in shipping as you will anywhere else.

Thanks!  I guess I'll just go through Happs then, seeing as I need to get Convex buttons too.

P.S.  Assuming I don't hit any more snags in the constuction process, I'll be placing my Vortex order with you by the end of the week.

Good thing you're not getting the Black Player Start Buttons then.  They're convex.

I actually ordered from Happs this week and got the order the very next day.   Just a couple joysticks and TB plates so the shipping was not too abnormal ($13).  Also ordered from Bob Roberts this week (50+ buttons, 4 joys, and a bunch of other smaller items) and the S/H was a paltry $12 for it.  Of course, he doesn't sell trackballs and he tends to eat some of the shipping.

Well all start buttons are concave (And I have noticed your post selling the black).  And I'm making my pinball buttons concave.  Just thought convex are better for the face buttons because they seem to have better ergonomics and are less fatigueing for the fingers.

I just bought all my buttons 30+ and a track ball
from happs. They charged $12 shipping  via UPS ground.
Not unreasonable IMHO. I have had no problems with them so
far.
