I've been looking at so many controls, so many reviews, I'm at the point where it feels like I have found everything I'm going to find on it.
I see threads that say Happ Super's are the best all around 8-way and what you would be used to it the most if you gamed in the mid eighties until the late nineties (which is me), I see threads that say the Happ Competition is the best all around 8-way.
It's hard to judge because some of the reviews are older and as I understand it, they manufacturer or process changed over time.
I see the Dominux8 on GGG, and based on their specs and description, they seem to be the best ones you can buy, but I can't find many recent or full reviews or comparisons to the Happ controls.
My main type of Arcade game will be Double Dragon, Bad Dudes, Turtles, X-Men type games, but I want to be able to play fighter's like MK and SF when my friend's who enjoy those games come over and I don't want them to be disappointed.
GGG recommended the following, what do you think? I did mention that I didn't want to limit my decision based on cost.
GP-Wiz40 with 40 input wiring harness option.
4x Dominux8, Short shaft length, Reduced throw circular restrictor.
1x Dominux8 with 4-way restrictor.
CLASSX buttons with Leaf Switch option.

What do I think? I think you should buy one of each stick and try them yourself.

I would agree with yotsuya, if you're wanting to get experience. If not or you don't have the cash for that, I recommend the Suzo 500. I think you're inclined toward leaf switches, though, so what you have in mind looks fine - but still you might want to buy one, with the features you mentioned, to make sure.

The Suzo 500 has been retired. The factory stopped producing them about two years ago, due to poor sales. But there might still be some out there on the used market.
Yots probably gave the best advice. Controls are very subjective, and one persons ideal, won't necessarily be someone else's. The only way to know is to try them, with the games you like to play often.

Yeah, you just need to order one of each you're serious about and try them. It's not like you can't resell any of the ones you don't like. I've done it many times myself.
