I'm using MAME 172, no nag forced direct input...
I want to use joytokey for a button hold, and when i test the buttons in notepad...they work, but as soon as i enter a game in MAME, the button is no longer recognised....what could be wrong?

Silly question, but do you have joysticks enabled in HyperHQ with the proper bindings?

OP didn't say he was using Hyper anything unless I missed something.

i'm using hacked PS4 controllers ....and every tutorial i've seen for setting up Rocketlauncher/Hyperspin, it says not to enable Joysticks in HyperHQ?

From the OP's follow up, it looks like you were right anyway. To many components in Hyperspin though, seriously.

Yeah I've got to get off my butt and design something simple in terms of Front-ends. Hyperspin is really pretty but I pitty anyone trying to set it up.

Yeah, joysticks won't be very good to enable, but I wanted to check on that anyway. Do you have the keybindings for the various inputs in HyperHQ mapped to the same bindings in joytokey?
