Title: Hi Scores Not Saving???

Hello, my hiscores are not saving and I am not sure what I did?

Can someone please walk through, step by step a checklist of things to check for when one's hiscores are not saving in a Mame 174 compiled with hiscore?  I've tried everything yet the scores are not saving... please!

Is "hi" directory in place (in your mame directory)
Is disable_hiscore_patch   0 in your mame.ini - i.e. the patch enabled?
Not all games save hi scores (not any I've come across, mind) so what games are you trying?
Do you have the latest highscore.dat? Not sure if this is needed anymore, but worth checking

I checked all that and all is where it should be.
I think it's that they've changed something with .lua scripts and hiscores now?
Too complicated for me.
I guess I'll have to wait until they either include it in the regular mame or something easier comes along.
