Title: How do you make a powercord?
Post by: crashdmj on January 17, 2004, 05:55:37 pm
Hello, been awhile...
I have an arcade monitor that I'm not sure if it works or not, It has no powercord and I was wondering if there is an easy way to make one?
Thanks
Derek

You can buy "electical cord" cable at your favorite hardware or lowes/home depot.  In the same aisle you should find the plug (that plugs in the wall) as well.

NEVER plug a monitor into the wall outlet unless you know for sure it has a switching power supply built-in and specifically says NO ISOLATION NEEDED. Nintendo Sanyo, Nintendo Sharp, and many Sega/Nanao monitors operate on 100 volts NOT 120 volts.

You can buy ready made monitor power cords from Wells-Gardner (www.wellsgardner.com) but you must call them and talk to a live person to order it.
