Hi, first post here
I have been playing Food Fight on MAMEUIFX-0.174-64 bit and am using a XBOX-360 wired controller plugged into my PC
From my understanding, the original “food fight” had a 49 way analogue joystick
However, when I play the game in MAME, using the left analogue controller for movement, I can only move up, down, left, right and diagonally Up/left, up/right, down/left, down/right
Is there a way to change any settings, so that my analogue controller can mimic the original 49 way joystick??
If so, can someone explain how to do it??
Currently I am using the following controller layout in the link below (unmodified) for all games in MAME:

Thanks

Welcome aboard, Jimmybog. ;D

Minor point of correction, but a 49-way (http://newwiki.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?title=Joysticks#49-Way_Joysticks) (7x7 optical) joystick isn't the same as an analog (http://newwiki.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?title=Joysticks#Analog_Joysticks) (potentiometer) joystick.
Pgs. 25 and 27 of the manual here (http://www.arcade-museum.com/manuals-videogames/F/foodfight.pdf) show that the Food Fight stick has potentiometers.
However, when I play the game in MAME, using the left analogue controller for movement, I can only move up, down, left, right and diagonally Up/left, up/right, down/left, down/right
In the "Input (this Game)" menu, have you set the following to "none"? (press Enter then Esc)
- "AD Stick X Analog Inc"
- "AD Stick X Analog Dec"
- "AD Stick Y Analog Inc"
- "AD Stick Y Analog Dec"

Scott, i will check what these values are set to when I get home tonight.
Are you saying that they should be set to NONE or asking if I have incorrectly set them to NONE ??

Are you saying that they should be set to NONE
Yes, if you are using an analog joystick.
In Food Fight, the "inc" and "dec" settings (along with the digital speed/autocenter speed settings in the Analog Controls menu) are used to simulate an analog (potentiometer) joystick when you only have a digital (8-way) joystick.
