Hi guys. New user.
I was hoping somebody may have some pointers.
I've got a working 4 joystick Mame setup. The problem is that my Howler Controller keeps remapping joysticks.
Once I've got them mapped right in Mame, it works great. However, I will come back and turn on the machine a week
later and find that Howler has remapped the joysticks with different controller ids. Ie, Joystick 1 is now Joystick 6 etc.
This is my second Howler controller that does this.
- Is this common with other usb controllers like ultimarc as well?
- Is there software that can dynamically remap for me?
My setup is
Windows 10 i5 8GB Ram
Hyperspin
Mame 1.5.1
Howler

It may not be the Howler, Windows does this. Have you tried the Controller Remap utility?

No I have not tried it! Thanks for help!

Hi! i'm having the same issue. When connected my Howler controller for first time it appeared as two controller devices, now appears as three and after a few reboots it changes joystick ids. Did you solve it? How dit you do?
Thanks in advance.
