Hello all! I have an x-arcade 2 player BYOC (http://shop.xgaming.com/collections/arcade-parts/products/two-player-complete-do-it-yourself-arcade-kit) that is currently wired and working. I am building this into a Silver Strike cab and would like to relocate the controller board. In order to do this I need to build/rewrie the current harness. I am looking for some stranded wire suggestions. I have been looking on eBay and Amazon but I am not sure what to get with out spending a lot of money.
Any help/suggestions are welcome and appreciated.

Any smaller gauge wire should work, 22 gauge is fine

When I first got into this hobby I insisted on using 16-18 gauge wire because it was what I was used to dealing with.
After a few projects where the amount of space the wiring took up became an issue, I switched to 22-24 gauge and haven't looked back.
It's so much more flexible and easier to work with when you have a bunch of wires bundled together.
It doesn't need to have any real power handling capabilities.
Some people use old data cabling.
I prefer color coding, so buy sets like this:

(solid core can be used, but I prefer stranded)

What Badmouth said. I stay away from using network cable, though. To me, its too thin to work with effectively.

Yes, I agree with BadMouth and yotsuya
Buy the 100 ft. roll of that wire BadMouth suggested. You will find use for it on a lot of new projects after you do this project.
Get a bag of small sized zip-ties. And make sure you have a set of wire strippers that can strip 22 gauge wire.
Bundle your wires and zip-tie them every few inches to make them look good and to keep the together. Nothing worse than a spiders nest of wires.
Just be sure to always pull your crimps to verify you seated them good. This is done by holding the crimp in one hand and pulling the wire with the other. The strength amount is all up to you and comes with experience. Remember, it is you that will be troubleshooting your own quality...so no shortcuts. :D

If the QD pulls off the wire, you have to replace it and re-crimp.
Instead of pulling, I use the twist method.
If the wire turns in the crimp, you can usually just re-crimp the QD. ;D

I will check out that ebay link. I was able to get 2 stranded Ethernet cables that had only 1 duplicate color and that worked for almost everything. I also pulled a part an old SCSI cable 48 wires all different colors, but I think they might be too small. I am using them for my common. We will see in the next couple days how it all works.
As for the crimp ends, I am well versed in that. I use the pull/jerk method and that usually works for me.

For really tight spaces i use Kynar 30aug wire but for your needs 22-24 is just fine.
