I have been doing quite a bit of reading and I think I'm on the right track. I wanted to check with you guys here to make sure before I start any purchases tomorrow. I have an LCD TV already that I will be using as the display. I am going to pick up Raspberry Pi 3 and run Retropie. I found a set of controls that I think will work on ebay (http://www.ebay.com/itm/2-Player-USB-Mame-Arcade-Kit-w-2-Joysticks-4-8-way-16-HAPP-Push-Buttons-60-in-1/221973824045?_trksid=p2045573.c100033.m2042&_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20131017132637%26meid%3De3332f04103341a98cbe3aefdf4dde40%26pid%3D100033%26rk%3D4%26rkt%3D4%26sd%3D251343306708 (http://www.ebay.com/itm/2-Player-USB-Mame-Arcade-Kit-w-2-Joysticks-4-8-way-16-HAPP-Push-Buttons-60-in-1/221973824045?_trksid=p2045573.c100033.m2042&_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20131017132637%26meid%3De3332f04103341a98cbe3aefdf4dde40%26pid%3D100033%26rk%3D4%26rkt%3D4%26sd%3D251343306708)). From what I understand, there is nothing more I need, as these will plug directly in to the USB port on the Pi. From there, it's just speakers and making the cabinet and other odds/ends. Am I missing any major components here?
Any feedback is appreciated!!

2.5Amp Power Supply
At least an 8G MicroSD card (with adapter for your PC)
22gauge stranded wire for button harness extensions (you'll need to extend some)
Case for the RP3 (otherwise don't lay it on anything metal)
You probably already have:
USB keyboard (for configuration)
HDMI cable
Super easy to do. I had mine up and running from the keyboard within an hour - using RP2 and the retropie image from a year ago.

Got the Pi3 starter kit that came with the case, power supply and 16GB card. Got the keyboard and cable . I'll keep the 22gauge wire in mind. Good to know I'm on the right track. Got the sides for the cabinet cut out today and will have the basic frame of it completed by tomorrow hopefully!!
