Title: Arcade Funhouse Stand alone Plug and play Panel-Completed
Post by: aldub516 on May 14, 2016, 08:52:52 pm
This machine went through probably 5 full transformations lol. It started years ago, as my first ever build. And little by little, piece by piece it morphed into this. It was originally a panel for a full upright cabinet. I became a fan of the standalone panel after another build i did. Everything is right inside the panel. Put it down, plug it in, play it. Simple enough. I didnt do the best documenting of building it, plus as i said, that process stretches over years and 5 different panels. Essentially, the shape is simple.. the art is "intricate" but.. its artwork. At the end of the day, it doesnt need much of a build documentation. Ive heard very much that people think the placement of the 4 way joystick in the middle bottom is stupid and just makes the trackball impossible to use.. For me personally, ive built two machines just like this, and i, nor anyone else, has a problem playing anything theyve played with the track ball. Its that simple. All the controls were tested for comfortability on my end, and it works out perfect for me. In the future i of course have learned new things and will do a switchable 8/4 way setup. But for my purposes, i like this setup, and its what i went with. Its running hyperspin with atari aged systems up to about snes..  Thanks for looking :)

That is a neat concept. All integrated. I build my first cabinet about 9 years ago, started with the CP. It may look a bid of an odd shape but like you said it "works for me."  Then I build the cabinet. My problem is the graphics, I have none, just the marque, so I always look at the graphics. You did an awesome job on them, they look old and worn out.

Really nice touch.

Very original! I love this. I will take design cues for the bartop I am doing. Damn is this a well thought out concept! Wish I had those kind skills! :applaud:

Nice job! Its nice to see that the panel got finished. Even if it is in a totally different direction than you originally planned.
