so retro usb is coming out with a new nes clone. it will have hdmi out, 4 controller ports, Nes and famicom cart slots, and claims to have disc system support. priced pretty high at nearly $200. it better at least have a pair of Bluetooth new controllers.

But will it play castlevania III at 100%?

It's 185. That isn't completely unreasonable, although my guess is they could sell it for 125 or less and still make a considerable profit.
The built in game genie support is what concerns me. That might actually decrease compatibility. Also retro usb is bad about releasing a product and then dis-continuing it because.... reasons?

Left thread satisfied.

So I stumbled upon a YouTube video of this bad boy in action. Looks pretty awesome. I had to chuckle when I saw which game they demo'd...Castlevania III. Apparently even they knew there might be some skeptics out there. LOL! ;)

I will admit it is the sexiest clone to come out so far. classic nes with a modern touch.

Conveniently muted audio.....

Heh.
Maybe it's just me, but the layering seemed just a tad off. Am I imagining it?
I love the styling BUT what is the deal with that gigantic cart flap? The famicom slot is right in front, so couldn't they have went with a normal nes-sized door? I also sure hope they aren't cannibalizing nintendos to make these.... I mean those power and reset buttons are spot on.
