Title: Centipede low sound issue
Post by: hypergaming on May 05, 2016, 08:15:09 pm
Hi,

Does anyone know why my centipede cabinet game sound is low after replacing the board with a new one? The original board has some issues so I replaced it with another board I purchased.

The sounds was ok ( much louder ) with the original game board, after putting the new one in, the sound is very low. I tried adusting the volume control inside the cabinet but it doesn't seem to do anything but turn volume all the way down. If I turn all the way up nothing happens, stays at the same level.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Check all your chips to make sure that they're seated properly. You might also want to change the Pokey chips between the two boards to see if that does anything.

I research online and was able to identify the Pockey chip, the problem is, I have no clue how to tell if it is bad, or not put on correctly, it seems just like all the other chips, how do I test if its bad and need to get another one?

Before removing any chips, carefully note which way they are oriented. A notch on the chip will show you which way it goes.

Remove the Pokey from the old board,  and swap it on the new board.  See what happens.
