Title: WG 19" K7000 CRT Possible Convergence Issue?
Post by: AgentAlbatross on April 18, 2016, 11:18:38 pm
Hi all! First post here after discovering this excellent forum.

As you can see from the two pics, the CRT in the Double Dragon cab I just picked up looks a bit off.  I've circled (in white) the symptom areas.

#1 As you can see on the right hand side.. some weird "shifting" of the picture happening that I don't know what to make of. The horizontal white sticking out part (it's not supposed to stick out!) of the big billboard with a weird blue fringe, way off the screen in the black area where nothing else is being drawn. Similarly, the bottom of the image where the blue health bars are shifted over to the right

#2 The red patch. I see similar stuff elsewhere. Again shifted right.

Thoughts anyone? Is this a convergence problem? Or something else?

Cheers!

From what I've read that should be a simple adjustment if that's all it is?

I'll give it a tweak this weekend. Thanks for the input.

yes its all it will be,you can see the colour bleed from too much contrast
basically contrast is too high and brightness too low, brightness is probably marked black level on the chassis btw

If your K7000 has a remote board contrast and black-level adjustments will be there.   The adjustments for the colors and cut-offs will be pots on the neck board.

Finally had some time to adjust and after taking your advice, things look much better. Now that I have a more sane balance between contrast and brightness, I see I need to adjust the guns a little... greens need a little more green.

Thanks again for the help guys!
