Hi ---
I'm putting on my first cabinet and although I love the old games, the artwork must be modern and fresh (old school is sometimes a little bit dry ...)
So here is my first draft, criticism is welcome ;D
-
Keep going. I like how you've started, but it's not there yet.
-
Maybe put the company names in starburst perspective with the rays?
-
Looks good! But the phrase "GAME TAITO STATION" I don't get?
And what will the right hand side look like? You obviously can't just mirror the image.

I agree. Is this a reference to something I don't know of? Otherwise, I really like it. I love the company names in the background.

If you're going to cover the manufacturer names with a centralized logo, then you should darken their color or mute them so that the logo is the main focus. Plus your logo should be centered in the side, it's too far forward.
Add me to the people who don't get the game station thing, why brand it Taito if you have all the other manufacturers included in the background? You have a good start though, no roided SF characters or idiotic arcade character montage. So keep at it and post your second draft.

I say ditch the center logo and tighten up the background.
I think this has potential to be really good sideart.

Mea Culpa, my nephew just sent me some scenery images from his trip to Japan. Look what I found:

I love the idea, mind if I steal it?
-
I like it, loud and busy with simplistic overtone....PRINT AND CUT! :applaud:
-
So half the posts are keep working on it, the other half is go for it. Sorry we can't be more helpful.

That is helpful... like what is the "perfect" color, quite subjective at best for reality is a color is just that a color perceived by everyone differently, scale of depth, even how it was applied can alter the effect. Art too, some think its great some may think it just sucks, but again its in the perception of the victim who subjected to analyze it for worth... For me yes I do like it, (as far as MAME art goes) not only for the reasons stated above but its also got the color of a Sega sceenprint, and Japanese overtones, which only add too its value as a collection of game related. (IMO)

I like the idea and the simple colours however if this was mine and I were going with a white and red theme then I think the logo background and sun burst would look fantastic grayscale with your main ‘Game Taito Station’ in Red/White on top.
Also
* Ensure all the Logo text run parallel to each other (Atari at the top looks off).
* Shrink/move the main logo so the top right isn’t cut off.
* Have you thought about your marquee, how will the main square logo work with that?
