Does anyone know anything about these machines?

Someone is asking me to repair theirs, but I know little about the machine. All I have so far is the identification of the cabinet and the fact that it "starts up but none of the games work". Very descriptive, I know. I plan on going to look at it to get a better idea of what's actually happening with it. So right now I am just doing a little prep work.
So, does anyone know anything about these machines or how to repair them? Based on just appearances, it seems like it probably has some form of computer inside of it, as opposed to a more traditional arcade board. Is that right?
Would I have to work with the Global VR company if the computer is bad? Has anyone worked with them, are they easy to work with?
Any ideas, info, or feedback would be appreciated. Thank you!

probably a security dongle. Games ran on a PC.
Never dealt with Global VR, this thread might help: http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,117193.msg1241443.html (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,117193.msg1241443.html)

Interesting, was not aware of their legal troubles. But I guess I'm not surprised. Guessing this means that I would have troubles dealing with their customer support on this cabinet I'm dealing with.
What is a "security dongle" though?
